Saw hundreds of these little fellows swimming in a few large puddles along the roadway in Rouge Park earlier this summer. S. shrieked and insisted on spending some time (a lot) checking them out. She notes that we couldn't see their eyes and couldn't really determine their color in the water - other than just as dark darting blobs. When we scooped a few into our hands, they were greenish. S. tells me that they will grow legs before they get their arms and their tails drop off. For more info. see here.
